Coloring Easter Eggs

The time-honored tradition of coloring Easter eggs was honored at our house this week.  However, we decided since the weather was beautiful to color our eggs outside.  The grass does not require cleaning and the rain will wash away any coloring that made it on the patio table...now that is beautiful.  That was stress-free cleanup for sure.  Each kid tackled the project in their own way...

Emma was the artist...meticulasly marking her eggs and working on coloring them just right

Geneva was the scientist...what colors mixed well, she became a master at the egg insertion and removal, what if I took this one that already has stickers on it and dipped it into another color - most of her eggs ended up a nice shade of olive green/brown

Jackson was the enforcer...making sure no one put another egg in with his egg or in a color he wanted and scolding if someone dropped them.  Then he took over as sticker master and all was harmonious around the table.

Maddox was just pure energy...he colored an egg, took it out, rubbed it (on his shirt, hair, with a papertowel), dropped it, put it back in (he usually used either green or orange), took it out with only his hands as utensils, dropped it, put it back in, took it out, rubbed it, picked up another one and banged them together, dropped them...you get the picture

In the end we had 2 dozen very colorful eggs and only about 18 of them we cracked or crushed.

All in all, it was alot of fun and the parents enjoyed it because we weren't stressed over the cleanup  :)
